BRU Burger Bar Bloomington: Elevating Your Burger Experience in Indiana

Finally got to try this place, and it was delicious!! The inside was super nice, staff was excellent and the food was yummy, and huge portions! My hubby started off with a beer flight. He had a Bell’s Brewery American Ale and 3 Floyds Zombie Ice, which were his 2 faves, and then a Voodoo Ranger Juice Force and a Burn ‘Em Brewing Hipster Juicebag, which were his least faves! I had the chicken tenders with the chipotle bbq sauce and fries. I really liked the chicken….great taste, juicy and tender! Not a fan of the sauce though. Fries were very fresh and tasty…and the ketchup was definitely different…don’t know why or how, but it was a good different!! My husband got the Bru Hot Chicken Sandwich and coleslaw. He loved them both, and the sandwich was HUGE!! Would definitely come back here again, would like to try a burger next time!

We were extremely pleasantly surprised by this place... Their food was AMAZING and was all very fairly priced!!! Honestly this place hands down has the best onion rings I have ever had!!! But the icing on the cake was the young man that waited on our table... I believe his name was Dillon but I'm not 100% sure (if not I am so sorry) ... My family and I have eaten at a ton of different restaurants over time but he was without a doubt one of the top 3 waiters/waitresses we have ever had!!! He was very sweet and polite and was on top of any and all requests or questions we had he also never missed a beat when our drinks needed refills... That young man definitely deserves a huge raise!!!

I know this is a burger place. I did not get a burger. I got the bread pudding. And it was absolutely smashing. While this is still under review within the underground circle of Midwestern bread pudding aficionados, this is certainly the best I've had in Bloomington. Many bread puddings attempt to stand on their own strength. They avoid making their plate too busy, sticking with at most some ice cream or whipped cream on the side. And there is beauty in simplicity. Bru Burger said forget all that, we're throwing the dessert kitchen sink at this thing. Ice cream? Check. Whipped cream? Check. Candied nuts? Check. Fruit preserve? Check. Caramel drip? Check. What an intensive list of accoutrements. And brother, lemme tell you, it's the A team, the prime time, the who-what-when-where, the full hallelujah chorus. Truly a fabulous experience. Maybe I'll actually get a burger here next time, but I'll probably leave the review at a high 5 stars as long as it's still pretty good, because the bread pudding carries them to the bank.

I loved it here! The atmosphere is such a good feeling. Beautiful inside! My food was delicious and our server Courtney was excellent! She checked on us often and kept the drinks filled regularly. Before I could ask for a refill she had already brought it to the table. She was courteous and polite. She really elevated our experience! I can't wait to go back and try more things from the menu!

Recently we reminded ourselves how good BruBurger by going two days in a row...with different family members! Parker had our table both days and she makes the experience extra special!! The manager was great too! Ambience is really nice and the food was truly delicious! We had so many different appetizers and entrees and everything was great! The fries are irresistible and even the snack burger was super tasty! Great experience all around and we'll definitely be back! Thanks again, Parker!

Really good grilled burger. Ordered medium well. It came out really juicy. The fries are crispy and good. My kid had chicken and fries. The chicken has great breading. Nice selection of beers and cocktails. Several tv's to watch while eating.

One of the best, if not the best restaurant in Bloomington. If you love appetizers, I highly recommend the chicken strips and nachos. There is also a great selection of burgers, with various protein options and customization options. The service is always top notch with pleasant staff and management always rounds to our table to make sure everything was good. The ambiance of the decor is fitting to this type of food also. Highly recommend this establishment.

For me, the burger was ok.I did order with a over easy egg that came back well done. I’m sure they wouldve corrected it, but I just went with it. Nothing I’d be at home craving though. The melt your face off Habenaro sauce, definitely doesn’t melt your face off. I feel like if you’re giving something that name then you better bring it on the heat level. One good thing, though was they didn’t charge for any sauces. So you can order all the sauces you wanted for free. Was not a fan of the boneless wings at all. Their service was top-notch. Remarkable! Atmosphere was nice, but they currently didn’t have shades in the window so we were blinded by the sun. I was told they would be getting them though. Fries beer, battered, so the wife couldn’t eat due to gluten. I would recommend that they have regular potato chips.
